Something we should all work on is getting the hours that bars can stay open set back to 1 or 2a.m., shoot by the time ya get a few drinks in you its time to tab out and go home, I don't know why the town of elvis can be so dead sometimes, I mean is this supposed to be a "retirement city" or this the city of the king of rock, lets make it happen I'm pushing for 2a.m. its just gonna generate more tax revenue for the city, and boost our dreadful economy, who's with me?

Since the Tupelo Daily Journal chose not to cover the Fair Park stage at the 2009 Tupelo Elvis Festival, I thought I would give everyone that wasn't able to attend a taste of what took place. This might run on for a bit but for good reason as there were 20 different acts that took the stage over the two days. There pace was pretty brisk with only a few delays for technical difficulties. The weather was perfect with the only complaint that we could have used some cloud cover during the Saturday afternoon performances. We don't have the official ticket count but from my vantage point there had to be at least 3,000 people on Friday night and even more on Saturday at the peak points of each night.
